ECUADOR: Acrimony spreads with Correa in second place

As the electoral campaign enters its last month, candidates have begun to hurl accusations in all directions. Frontrunner León Roldós says his closest rival, Rafael Correa, is conducting a 'multi-million' advertising campaign funded by Venezuela's Hugo Chávez . Correa, rising from behind, accuses President Alfredo Palacio of colluding with the conservative Partido Social Cristiano (PSC) to rig the elections to prevent him from winning. Many voters have apparently decided to wait until the last minute to make up their minds.
